Cirque De ScienceWorks

Saturday, Sept 6, 11AM to 2 PM

Step right up for Cirque De Science-Works! Meet Flynn Creek Circus artists in a noon Q&A, try balloon animals, plate spinning, beginner magic, and balance challenges. Play circus-inspired games with Fun Again Games & grab popcorn or cotton candy for sale in the Atrium.

Free with museum admission!

Compost in a Jar

Sunday, Sept 7, 11 AM to 2 PM

Volunteers from Ashland Climate Collaborative will help families build mini compost systems to take home — with instructions to track their progress. This hands-on activity is free with admission. Plus, it’s First Sunday: just $5 per person all day.

Discover how creativity, curiosity, and community can make wildfire readiness empowering — and fun — at Burning to Learn! This special STEAM Social blends science, art, and hands-on activities for all ages, making wildfire preparedness approachable, inspiring, and even joyful.


  • Start your evening with a Fire & Smoke Preparedness Passport from Southern Oregon Forest Restoration Collaborative (SOFRC). Collect stamps as you visit each engaging station — completed passports will win a prize!
  • Build your own DIY air filter and explore a smoke inversion demo with Smokewise Ashland, Ashland Fire & Rescue, and SOFRC staff
  • Learn how to assemble a Go-bag with tips and free materials from Silvia Ceron of the Oregon Department of Human Services
  • Discover home hardening and defensible space strategies with Teresa Vonn of the Oregon State Fire Marshal’s Office
  • Learn about wildfire science through art in the Blaze & Brush workshop
  • Test your skills in the Tree ID activity from Kara Baylog of the OSU Extension Service


The evening also features engaging presentations from SOFRC staff and the
Be Ready, Be Set wildfire readiness talk with Kelly Burns, City of Ashland Emergency Management Coordinator

Creative Dance for Children

Fridays in July & August


We’re teaming up with Creative Dance for Children to offer joyful movement classes for kids 7 and under, Fridays from July 11 to August 29. Held in our colorful Pacific Crest Cove, classes are $10–15 drop-in or $68–100 for the series. Member discounts available! Register at CreativeDance.me

The circus is coming!
ScienceWorks is thrilled to welcome Flynn Creek Circus back for the third year! Performing under their iconic red and white striped Big Top, this award-winning circus-theater company brings awe-inspiring acrobatics and theatrical magic to Ashland starting September 5. Their 2025 show, The Bridge, draws on Nordic myth and the power of connection, weaving stunning visuals, jaw-dropping stunts, irreverent comedy, and unexpected twists into an unforgettable performance. Flynn Creek Youth Circus Clinic 2025

For ages 7 - 18

Under the Big Top Tent at ScienceWorks

9:30 AM to 1:30 PM

This clinic brings award winning coaches to share their craft with students of all levels. Explore a spectrum of circus disciplines including Chinese Pole, Partner Acrobatics, Aerial Rope, and Duo Rope. Students are broken into small groups for maximum contact time. Whether a beginner or an experienced student, we've got curriculum to challenge and entertain.
